    Company Maker: Gillinder and Sons Item: Melon Sugar Shaker / Muffineer Circa: 1895 Color: Decorated Opal / White satin with a Peachy finish at top. Blue hand painted flowers with green foliage and brown trim. Mark: Unsigned Description / About: Gillinder and Sons Hand Painted Muffineer / Sugar Shaker- 4 3/4" H - 2 3/4" W. Condition: This striking sugar shaker / muffineer is in Undamaged Condition. There is the slight roughness from the factory grinding at the top of the rim under the lid. All of these early sugar shakers are like this. They were made this way and this is not considered damage. There are no major chunks or large chips. The glass is gorgeous. The hand painted pattern is pristine. You seldom see blue flowers on the Melon shape muffineers. It is absolutely beautiful. The lid has a few dark spots on it but is still completely intact without rust. This is common and is expected of an item that is 100+ years old. Learn More

The spooner which we are including with the set does have damage. We are actually selling the 3 pieces and sending the spooner along. There is a sizable 1/2" chip near the bottom of the spooner. It does not show when turned to the back and makes a great shelf piece, but we want to make sure that you are aware that this piece is not perfect. THERE ARE THE COMMON SHEER MARKS ASSOCIATED WITH THIS TYPE OF GLASSWARE. The tiny straw marks appear on the butter bottom and sugar bottom.
