Czechoslovakian Bottles

Czechoslovakian Bottles

Many fancy hand painted and wheel cut perfume bottles and vanity items were made in Czechoslovakia and were exported to the United States from the 1920's until WWII. Some of these items can be identified by an acid etched mark that was placed on the bottom of the piece, but many others only had paper labels that have long since disappeared. During the war, this supply of vanity items was interrupted and a number of glass houses in this country such as Imperial, New Martinsville and Paden City produced similar items that are often mistaken for those that were made in Czechoslovakia.
