MARKED ON THE METAL BAND ON THE BASE: "MEASURING DEVICE CORP. NEW YORK PAT. 1-18-25 OTHER PAT. PDG" The metal cone insert is marked: "TO CLEAN PULL HERE - THEN LIFT INSIDE CUP OFF DISC. ALWAYS TILT ONCE AFTER FILLING JAR. PAT. 1-13-25. OTHER PAT. PEND." - Condition: The glass part of this pretty Deco sugar shaker was made by Paden City. The #201 Paden City sugar shaker bottom was used and the Measuring Device Corp. added the metal parts to the shaker and sold it under the Med-Co. name. This clever dispenser was designed to dispense one teaspoon of sugar a pour. The sugar shaker is in UNDAMAGED CONDITION without chips or cracks. There are a couple of common very small bubbles caught in the glass. These add to the beauty of our old glass and are to be expected. The sugar shaker is nice and clear without residue. The bottom ring has dulled considerably over the years, but is still clearly marked. The top is in excellent condition, with some fine scratching from years of use. It is still shiny and bright. This wonderful sugar shaker would be a great addition to any collector of Depression Era kitchen glassware items. Learn More
