  1. Depression Early Deco Nudes / Dancing Ladies Straw Holder / Barber Comb Holder

Depression Early Deco Nudes / Dancing Ladies Straw Holder / Barber Comb Holder

COMPANY / MAKER: Unknown: Many Depression Era Companies made these straw holders / Barber Sanitary Comb Holders COLOR: Crystal Satin with clear dancing nudes ITEM: Early 11" Depression Glass Straw/Comb Holder CIRCA: 1930s /40s MARK: Unsigned MEASUREMENT: 11" H. - 4 1/4" W. CONDITION: This outstanding Dancing Ladies Straw Jar / Barber Sanitary Comb Holder may be one of a kind. Many Depression Era companies used this mold and similar molds for their straw jars. They were most often found displayed in Drug Stores, Ice Cream Shops, and Diners. Barber Shops used the same jars in crystal and used them to hold their combs, scissors etc. This lovely piece is in excellent shape with a beautiful satinized finish and has 4 dancing nudes encircling the jar. We have collected Straw Holders / Straw Jars since the early 1970s and this is the only straw holder with this kind of decoration that we have ever seen. We purchased this jar years ago at a Depression Glass show. It was sold to me as a straw jar, however I don't know how many women would want dancing ladies on their straw holders, so I assume this item belonged in a bar or barber shop. The glass parts of this awesome piece are in Undamaged Condition without chips, cracks, or mold damage. The inside of the straw holder is nice and clear. The metal insert has been replaced. The one that came with it was corroded and peeling. Learn More

McKee / Sneath WMG Hard to Find Refrigerator Water Cooler / Dispenser RARE

Company Maker: Sneath Glass Company or McKee - Item: Water Dispenser Color: White Milk Glass - Circa: Early 1900s / 1930s - Category: Kitchen Glassware - Backstamp / Labels: None - Item Condition: We are pleased to offer for sale this seldom seen Depression Era white milk glass Water Cooler /Dispenser. This piece is in great shape. The glass parts are in Undamaged Condition without chips, cracks, or mold damage. The metal part is in great shape too. All McKee water coolers use this style spigot. The rubber gasket has hardened with age and would need to be replaced if you were actually going to use this piece. There is a small area where some sand was caught in the glass. It has left a small blackish area (please see the photo). This dispenser has been found in White Milk Glass, Jadite, and crystal. It has also been found in crystal with a jade lid. That would cause one to think this was a Mckee product. However, the dispenser lid differs from the known McKee dispenser round lids in size. It is slightly smaller. Sneath made a similar water dispense in a clambroth green, crystal and a clambroth color which is the same dimension as the one shown here. The confirmed Sneath cooler does not have the stylish embossed pattern and comes with a different syle spigot. Until one of these dispensers is found with its original information we are not sure who to attribute this hard to find water cooler to. Learn More
