Condition: The DeVilbiss Manufacturing Company is famous for their beautiful perfume bottles. DeVilbiss purchased the glass part for this beautiful atomizer from one of the major glass companies. They added the hardware and then sold this lovely piece under the DeVilbiss name. This lovely atomizer is in great shape. The glass part of this pretty atomizer is in UNDAMAGED CONDITION without chips or cracks. This atomizer is free of disfiguring mold or production imperfections. The cutting is awesome. The pretty metal parts are in great shape too. They still have their 14 K gold finish. THE BALL IS ORIGINAL BUT HAS CONSIDERABLE WEAR AND DOES NOT WORK. The bottom of the bottle looks great - it is ground and polished on the bottom. The close up picture makes it looks scratched. Scratching is minimal, it is just the effect from enhancing the photo so you could see the label. GREAT PIECE!!! This wonderful atomizer would be a welcome addition to either a DeVilbiss or vanity item collection.

DeVilbiss Cut Perfume Close Up HardwareThe DeVilbiss Manufacturing Company was a hand decorating and finishing company that was in operation in Toledo, Ohio from the early 1900's through the mid 1950's. They are most noted for their unique designs of atomizer fittings for perfume and toilet water bottles. Glass blanks were purchased from many leading glass houses for the purpose of decorating with enamel and gold. Many items are signed with the script "DeVilbiss" name on the bottom. However, some items were only sold with paper labels. Most of these labels were destroyed through use and identifying unsigned items requires studying the unique characteristics of the hardware. Many times, perfumizers and perfume droppers were available as matched sets. Sometimes other matching accessory pieces such as puff boxes, pin trays and larger dresser trays were also available. The early intricately designed atomizers and perfume bottles from the late 1920's and early 1930's are eagerly collected today.
